Day 2 of my favorite postcards week is postcards I’ve received from Postcrossing. They’ve come from all over the world, which I think is really awesome. Postcrossing works pretty simply: you make an account, and then request addresses. you address your postcards and send them out, then you wait for them to be received.  Each postcard that is received and registered allows you to send another, and also to return one.

Like I said in my first day, I’ve sent about 100 postcards through Postcrossing, and I really love trying to find postcards people like. I also love seeing what people have picked out for me. I’ve received a bunch of postcards, and it was difficult narrowing down to 10 postcards. But I did, so here’s my current 10 favorite postcards, in no particular order.

Signs on Shanghei Street, Mongkok, Kowloon This is one of my favorite postcards. It’s also one of the first postcards I recieved from Postcrossing. I love how busy it is. It’s Shanghei Street, Mongkok, Kowloon, in Hong Kong. Someday I want to go.

Carnival Ride Postcard My mom’s a concessionaire, she managed food stands at fairs and carnivals, and I have been exposed to a lot of carnival things, like the rides. So I really love this postcard. You don’t see a lot of carnival ride postcards, so this makes it all the more interesting to me.

Lingonberries I love Lingonberry jam, I blame IKEA’s meaballs. So when this was sent to me, I thought it was neat. The sender, from Finland, said she likes cloudberries better, and included a picture on the back of the postcard of them.

Dutch Street Signs Postcard

These are Dutch Street signs, sent from Holland. I thought they were neat. I love to compare other transportation related things from other countries with ors. They’re so similar, and so different.

Commercials Vehicles Vintage Style POstcard

This postcard was sent to me from Russia, from a postcrosser who has over 1000 cards in her collection. She loves to go through them to find the perfect card for each person.

Zepplin Over Berlin Postcard

Zepplin over Berlin is this postcard. I love zepplins, they’re fascinating. This was a really neat postcard to receive from Germany.

Watercolour Painting Postcard

This postcard is a print of a watercolour, and was sent to me by the artist. I thought it was really colourful and neat.

German Fozzie Bear Postcard

German Wakka Wakka anyone? Who doesn’t love Fozzie bear? I can’t find translation online for Du machst mich ganz wuschig, if you know what it says, please leave a comment. It’s the wuschig that trips me up.

Neuschwanstein Castle Postcard

Everyone’s favorite castle, Neuschwanstein. I had a poster of this castle on my walls in college, and I want to visit really badly. Pet is a lucky woman, she was able to see it in high school.

German Automobile Postcard

The best I can determine from this postcard is that it’s an ad of sorts for an auto manufacturer in Bremen.  The postcrosser who sent this to me lives in Bremen, and works near where this is supposed to be.
